Comunicado relativo a la celebración del EBOT EXAM y EBOT INTERIM EXAM
COMUNICADO European Board of Orthopaedics and Traumatology:
Whereas on 16 March we were still optimistic to be able to go ahead with the EBOT Final Exam scheduled for 17 June 2020, the global Covid-19 pandemic forced us to take the difficult decision to postpone the 2020 EBOT Exam to 2021.
All candidates who have been admitted to sit the written part this year will be offered to transfer their application to next year. The exact dates for both the written and the oral parts in 2021 will yet need to be defined. We do, however, plan to organise them within the usual timeframe, section I in June and section II in October in Brussels, Belgium. We are currently working on the details and will provide all further information as soon as possible.
In order to foster the harmonisation and quality of education and improve orthopaedic training throughout Europe, as it is our aim, the EBOT Examination Committee is considering organising an EBOT Interim Exam in fall this year, should the circumstances allow us to do so.
At this stage, we would like to repeat that the decision to postpone the exam has not been taken light-hearted but our utmost priority is the safety and health of all participants, examiners and other stakeholders.
If you have any questions or need further information, please do not hesitate to get in touch with the EBOT Administrator at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our thoughts are with all patients affected and all of you managing uncertainty with resilience and adaptability.
All the best and stay safe.
The EBOT Examination Committee
